During a beautiful summer’s day, my partner Richard decided to take me on a drive through the little hamlet in which he grew up. The hamlet of Hollinsclough is situated on the outskirts of Buxton, Derbyshire nestled within the high peak valleys surrounded by breath taking countryside views. We stopped outside his family home one of only a handful of houses each separated by at least one field however at the centre of the hamlet sits a beautiful little chapel and as I walked inside the first thing, I noticed was the light pink walls, my immediate thought was-photoshoot!!
Being a major Thomas Hardy fan and after watching the recent adaptation of ‘far from the madding crowd’ only a few hundred times I decided that Hollinsclough chapel would be the perfect location for a whimsical Hardy inspired styled photoshoot. I wanted to showcase the quaint English countryside in all of its natural glory with, as always, a slight nod to history and PINK it was all about pink and grass and lambs and the chapel and reminding the public how beautiful a simple chapel wedding can be.
I chose to feature the Olive wedding dress with its light and airy tulle skirt and simple satin bodice with elegant three-quarter sleeves. Adding a dusky pink satin bow belt for a simple and neat finish with hair as natural as possible. Shoes were supplied by I am Florence style: Sarah and lipstick shades were chosen to accentuate the pink theme. Flowers were also centred around soft pinks and blush hues and consisted of mostly meadow flowers which incredibly Jo from Fletcher Foley grew herself.
Incredibly proud of this one.
